Oaksmith Gold Review

I have heard a lot about the finest of Japanese Spirits like Hibiki and Yamazaki. So when I got to know that the makers of the same, @beamsuntory were launching a world class blend under the brand name of Oaksmith Gold @oaksmithgoldindia specially crafted for India, I was really excited to try it!🥃

Beam Suntory has a long history of impeccable Japanese craftsmanship & quality. So my expectations from @oaksmithgoldindia was no less! It is crafted by Shinji Fukuyo, the Chief Blender at Suntory, who travelled across the country to understand the different food cultures and flavours.

He created a blend of Pure Aged scotch malts from Highlands of Scotland, Pure Aged Kentucky Bourbon from America and finest grain spirits, blended with unmatched Japanese craftsmanship.. This blend is aged for 4 years in charred American white oak barrels, which also inspired the name Oaksmith.

I recommend having 45 ml of the whisky and an equal amount of water with 4-6 ice cubes. Coming to the drink itself, is truly is an international blend, combining the best of the East & West, giving it a distinct flavor profile from its Scotch-Bourbon blend. There is a distinctive woodiness to it from the oak barrels, honeyed sweetness with a delicate creamy texture reminiscent of the best distilleries of Scotland.

Final Verdict – A fine balance of smokiness, sweetness and smoothness, @oaksmithgoldindia sets a new standard with its hallmark rare blend in the mass premium whisky segment for those who want to Peg It Higher.
